Martina Dike

Swedish mezzo-soprano Martina Dike is best known for her portrayal of dramatic Wagner-roles.
One of the latest highlights was Ms. Dike’s interpretation of Ortrud/LOHENGRIN at Staatstheater Nuremberg, a role she has previously sung at the Greek National Opera. Another of Martina’s signature roles is Brangäne/TRISTAN AND ISOLDE, which she has performed in Stockholm, Frankfurt, Essen, Dortmund, Antwerpen, Nantes and Dijon, as well as in concert in Malmö, Montreal and Riga.
Martina has sung Fricka, Waltraute and Second Norn at Bayreuther Festspiele, Fricka at the Frankfurt Opera (available on CD and DVD from Oehms Classics), Royal Opera in Stockholm, Latvian National Opera in Riga, Aalto Theater Essen, as well as Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
Among further roles are Gräfin Geschwitz/LULU in Frankfurt, Gertrud/HÄNSEL und GRETEL as well as Mrs. Sedly/PETER GRIMES in Dortmund, Klytamnestra/ELEKTRA in Osnabrück, Composer/ARIADNE in Malmö, Annina/ROSENKAVALIER at Teatro Colón in Bogota, Eboli/DON CARLOS at Staatstheater Nuremberg and Amneris/AIDA at Wermland Opera.
Martina Dike began her career at the Royal Opera in Stockholm with roles such as: Clarion/CAPRICCIO, Maddalena/RIGOLETTO, title role CARMEN, Adalgisa/NORMA, Brangäne/TRISTAN und ISOLDE, Eboli in DON CARLO and Fricka/RING.
Ms. Dike has worked with conductors such as Stefan Soltesz, Antonio Pappano, Christian Thielemann, Gabriel Feltz, Joana Mallwitz, Leif Segerstam, Kent Nagano, Neeme Järvi, Dmitri Jurowski and René Jacobs and directors like Jens Daniel Herzog, Tilman Knabe, Vera Nemirova and Staffan Valdemar Holm.
On the concert platform Ms. Dike has worked with e.g. the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra (both Verdi and Mozart Requiem), the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra (Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and Bernstein’s 1st Symphony ”Jeremiah”), Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra (Oedipus Rex, Stenhammar’s Sången – also on DVD) and Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra.
