Jennifer Condon - Conductor
Australian conductor, Jennifer Condon has been based in Germany since 2008. Her extensive operatic repertoire of over 65 works and an affinity with many of the world’s finest singers were established in six years as Maestro Suggeritore at the Hamburg State Opera.
Working freelance since 2014, Jennifer has worked at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Salzburg Festival, Baden-Baden Festival, Vienna State Opera, Semperoper Dresden, Berlin State Opera, Bayreuth Festival, Hamburg State Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Dutch National Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Zurich Opera, Hungarian State Opera, Dallas Opera and the Tokyo Nikikai Opera.
Recent career highlights include conducting performances of Der fliegende Holländer for the Malmö Opera and conducting an all-Australian programme for the closing concert of the Festival Cultural de Mayo in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Jennifer is in high demand for her combination of skills as coach, prompt and conductor, particularly in late-German and contemporary repertoire – Aribert Reimann’s Lear being her signature work to date. She has been engaged as assistant by such eminent conductors as Sir Simon Rattle, Simone Young, Jaap van Zweden, Franz Welser Möst, Sir Andrew Davis and Kirill Petrenko.
